At every age your child needs affection, but the type of affection changes as they develop.
IT’S difficult to know how much affection to give your children.
Is hugging them every day going to smother them? Or will distancing yourself too much leave them feeling insecure?
0-1 Years: A baby needs a lot of different sensory stimulation for normal development. They require skin-to-skin contact, physical hugging, plenty of eye-to-eye contact and to be talked to.
All of this will help them grow a healthy brain.
When children of this age are deprived of physical contact, their bodies can stop growing – despite a normal intake of nutrients.
